Very good accommodation close to the old town of monpazier. Well equipped with Lovely terrace for outdoor dining. Nearby town has good range of local shops bars and places to eat.
Thanks for your kind review Jan - and yes, Monpazier is a beautiful village, that's for sure! But also a working village, which makes life really easy if you just want to potter close to home. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay - maybe we'll see you return some time soon! All the best, Rosemary.
The little cottage
Nice one bedroom cottage, but if you want sun the place is surrounded by trees and only sees the sun for about an hour or so in the afternoon.
Thanks David for choosing our cottage for your holiday. I do hope you were very comfortable during your stay, and you managed to experience all the wonderful things our village and neighborhood has to offer. Cheers!
The property is overhyped. Nice location, good sleeping and sitting area. The following are observations that in their entirety helped spoil our stay. Bathroom/shower room the extractor fan was not working. Shower tiles (grouting) black and not nice. The outside table and chairs - no parasol to shade against the heat. The Bar-b-Q (gas) didn't work so unable to use. Bulb in the cooker hood not working. bulb in the sittingroom chandelier not working. Overall a very disappointing experience. Not happy. Better places nearby.
Hello Patrick & Laura, I am very sorry to read you did not enjoy your time in our cottage. And having now checked with my property manager, we are both dismayed to learn of your disappointment now, and we're only sorry we couldn't have sorted things out for you on the spot during your stay. When Steve came to demonstrate to you how to use the BBQ, he would have been happy to assist in any other way possible. We keep ample stock of globes on hand, as their expiry is unpredictable. Steve would have been very happy to replace them for you. I do also appreciate your constructive feedback on the shower cubicle, and have instructed my housekeeping team to fix that issue. Steve has now checked the extractor fan, and it is definitely still working - it's just silent. In terms of the outdoor shade - the cottage is surrounded by lovely big old trees, so people tend to prefer to sit in their shade, rather than in full summer sun...hence, the reason for no umbrella. But having said all that, sadly I cannot change or improve your experience now, and I am sincerely sorry that it was not what you were expecting. I appreciate your feedback, and wish you all the best.
Rlovely cottage in the country
Very peaceful in the country , walk to shops and restaurants or cook your own in the kitchen or bbq . Loft bed was very comfortable and pillows lovely . Great to view TV in front of the fire whilst having dinner , we enjoyed sitting outside it’s a wine in the afternoon .
leuk huisje,groot genoeg,goede ligging,rustig,
Idyllic rural cottage in the Dordogne valley
Really enjoyable stay in a secluded cottage half a mile away from Monpazier 'beaux village'. A perfect place for a quiet, relaxing break in rural Dordogne. Monpazier itself is an ideal base for tour of the area, having good restaurants/bars, cafes and shops & a lively courtyard where you can soak up the local atmosphere. Lots to see and do in this area, great opportunities for river bathing, kayaking, cycling, walking and exploring pretty Medieval villages, ancient caves and breathtaking scenery. The cottage is set in the grounds of a larger villa, but separated from it across grounds and a small orchard with cherry and walnut trees. It is attractively decorated in simple French style and the mezzanine bedroom with balcony overlooking the living area is gorgeous. It is plenty spacious for 2 with all facilities you would need and a delightful patio area for relaxing in the afternoon sun. Very highly recommended, thankyou Rosemary we really loved our holiday here!
Hi there Mark - thanks so much for this lovely review - what a great surprise! I am really pleased to know you enjoyed your stay. And we'd be very happy to welcome you back to Monpazier anytime in the future - it was a pleasure to host you. All the best, Rosemary.
