Beautiful rustic house with amazing views
We had a fantastic week in this amazing house in Belvianes et Cavirac. The area is magnificent with views that are out of this world.
Our neighbours were very friendly and greeted us every morning with cock-a-doodle-doo, which is the same en francais!
A lovely lady passed by the door every morning selling fresh bread and croissants from her van.
There are 2 restaurants within walking distance which were very good. We especially liked La Maison Templiere.
Quillan, the nearest town is only a 5 minute drive away with a variety of shops, bank, petrol station, restaurants (great Chinese restaurant), bars and cafes.
Just outside Quillan was a fantastic swimming lake with a large inflated play zone (for all ages) in the water.
The location of the house is excellent as there is so much to do in the area.
I only wish we could have stayed a 2nd week!
Thank you Shelley.
beautiful old house, surrounded by the mountains
Lovely house, set on 3 level (quite steep narrow steps) with simple stunning views from the garden across to the mountains. Good communication and facilities. Great base to explore the surrounding castles or try the water sports.
Thanks for your kind review and really glad you enjoyed your holiday
Romantic, traditional, cosy and suberbly equiped.
We stayed for 5 nights during our vacation and felt completely at home. This lovely little village house was really well situated for touring and although close to a main road, never disturbed by it. The house is detached and sits on and at the end of the village road. Actual car traffic passing from the village was very rare. Occassional walking traffic a little more frequent with warm greetings from those who passed by. The house is on 3 floors with inital access through the lower floor garden, up through the cool sitting room to the separate dining room and kitchen where the front door can then be accessed and the shutters opened to enable the front door on the road to be used after that as the main entrance. Parking is just diagonally opposite the house. The wide wooden stairs up from the kichen lead to the bedrooms, one double bedroom and one room with two single beds. The rooms are separated by a small landing with a separate loo and sink and both bedrooms have a toilet, sink and shower room. Everything is thought of! The kitchen is really well supplied with cookware - I made a beautiful beef in red wine casserole using the le crueset pot and had loads of fun playing house as everything you could possibly think of had been provided. The little terrace was a joy and a real sun trap - great for breakfasts and evening meals watching the sun and clouds change across the mountains that feel as if they rise up almost at the bottom of the garden. The valley the house looks down into contains the main road and on the other side of the road is the river which you can hear gently in the distance. The downstairs living room is peaceful and cool. The circular stairs from this level to the dining room could be a bit challenging for knees and big bottoms but once the shutter on the front door is open if you really did not wish to use them it was very easy to move between floors using the front door to get to both the garden and the living room. We loved it. Someone put a lot of thought and care in to making this a truly cosy place to relax.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review and we are really pleased you had such a good time at the house
Cute cottage in a beautiful setting
My husband and I stayed for 6 days in June and had a lovely relaxing holiday. The drive from Toulouse was easy and picturesque. The cottage is situated in a quiet, pretty village with a great view from the terrace. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedroom cosy. The shower in the double bedroom that we used was easy to operate and had good flow. We spent some lovely evenings sat out on the terrace eating our dinner. We visited the local lakes where we swam and there is a great bakery in the local town Quillan. The river is really nearby and looks great for rafting on although we didn't do it.
Overall we had a nice stay.
