The views from the house are captivating. All the windows open to the back which faces the river.
Inside, it's a very comfortable and picturesque home to live and relax in. There are so many fantastic villages, forests, historical and cultural sites all over the Dordogne and it's nice to come home to a place that feels like you're still in a cultural site (stone walls, wooden beams, long casement windows. )
The terrace is beautiful but, when outside, you do hear (not see) the traffic noise on the street at the front of the house. This is inevitable; if you want to be in a French village, to walk to the butcher, boulanger, cafés, etc., the few roads will indeed pass by the front of the house. The river and the rooms are the back of the house. The swallows over the river, make such beautiful music, that you can choose to hear them instead and to enjoy the garden and its terrace. No mosquitos either (we were here May to June.)
