Good apartment in a terrific location: the Parallel metro station is a short walk down hill, Carrer Blai, a street full of tapas bars, restaurants and a great fruit and vegetable store is just one block down the hill, Quimet-Quimet one the best tapas bars in the city is 2 blocks down the hill and it's a 10-15 minute walk to La Rambla. We walked all over Poble Sec and and the neighborhoods around La Rambla from here and took the Metro everywhere else. The apartment is on a residential street with a Farmacia on the corner and several bakeries nearby.
The only drawbacks were that the really slow dial up internet connect completely failed after 2 days (forcing me to spend an hour or so each afternoon in my favorite tapas bar on Carrer Blai to be online - what a sacrifice!), the sheets were washed in some kind of powerful industrial detergent which gave my partner a rash and there was a fair amount of street noise from the trash pickups and all the scooters (Barcelona has more scooters than any other city in Europe - and they all went under our window every night. Closing the French doors and turning on the A/C masked the street noise quite well. If the wifi was working better we'd stay here again.
conforme aux photos - bon emplacement
location de qualité, bien placée dans le poble sec, avec rue très animée à quelques mètres tout en restant très calme pour barcelone !
Check in was easy and simple. An old neighbourhood and on the noisy side but good restaurants very close by.
Great location and owner responded quickly to fix a problem.
The appartement is located in a good neighborhood, close to all the facility to explore this beautiful city. The owner Mertixell & Octavi where quick to replace the water heater that stop working during or stay, that in itself show how much they care for theirs tennants. We would definitely recommend this place with confidence to ours friends if they visit Barcelona.
The mold in this apartment is beyond belief! Don't rent this apartment until they remediate the mold
Seriously I can't believe how bad the mold problem is! But the neighborhood is great! Awesome eats and drinks in the neighborhood right down the street.
Clean and cozy and well stocked, but not the greatest experience
What is really starting to irk me about home rentals is the ease of check-in. I was requested to call, I presume the property manager, an hour before I arrived. Between customs lines and hailing a taxi, I took a bit over an hour, but we felt rushed bc he had to meet at another property. In addition, we were asked to pay a €14.88 tourist tax and of course it needed to be cash. I’m not even sure if that’s a thing and we told him we didn’t have having flown for 12 hours and just setting foot in Spain. I’ve also been scouring emails and the app to find where it was stated, bc he insisted that we should have known. So he accompanies us to the atm bc no other arrangement was acceptable and we pay him and that was that. The rest of the stay was fine, noise level was bearable, but I think the garbage trucks are pretty loud.
Another quirky thing is the shower configuration. The showerhead is on the “side” rather than the “front” making it rather awkward to shower.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience. The tourist tax applies to all apartments in Barcelona. It was mentioned in the confirmation e-mail that you received when you booked the apartment, and also in our e-mail from Aug 23rd when I contacted you for the arrival details. Anyway, we'll state it more clearly in the ad. Thank you.
