We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful and charming property! Such a peaceful setting in the lovely Dordogne countryside, and it’s really set up to take advantage with the balcony and pool and outdoor seating areas all overlooking the view. The accommodations are really comfortable and the houses are clearly well-built and well-kept (we found out from the property manager that they were rebuilt from some old ruins, which we thought was very cool). We really enjoyed the nearby town of Daglan as well, and thought it was one of the prettiest little towns in the region. We had wondered before we came how walkable it would be, and it was a little too far to easily walk into town for our baguette and croissants every day, about 10-20 minutes depending on your pace. It’s up on a hill so it’s a bit of a hike coming back up from town, but it’s a really nice walk down, there’s a path that goes right by the house and down into town (much more direct than the road). All the rooms are much bigger than they look in the pictures posted, even in the little house both bedrooms have a little sitting area. In case you’re wondering about the layout of the two houses, in the big house there are two large bedrooms, one small bedroom, and a full bathroom with tub and separate shower upstairs. All three bedrooms open onto the balcony. Downstairs in the big house are a large living/sitting room, a big kitchen/dining room (separate from the living room, not open floor plan), and a bathroom with a shower. In the small house, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and a smaller (but still very comfortable) living/dining room and kitchen (somewhat open floor plan, kitchen opens onto the dining room, which is open to the living room). We were traveling with our three very young children (4, 2, and 11 months) and the house had everything you need for babies and toddlers - a pack n play crib, high chair, little toilets, and even some pool toys and a slide. Also, the pool is enclosed with a low wall and gate, so we didn’t have to worry about the kids falling in when they were out playing on the lawn. We initially had a bit of trouble booking, but we worked it out and are so glad we did. The owner was very responsive and the property manager, Elisabeth, was very helpful and friendly. The owner even had a box of fresh local produce left for us, which we thoroughly enjoyed.Overall we had a fantastic two weeks there and would love to return, highly recommend!
