Shoes off when you come in please, and absolutely no smoking and no pets. Food in the kitchen only, not upstairs. There is plenty of parking in the gravel parking area just before you get to the house, not in the neighbors driveway just past the house, and no parking on the lawn. Hot water is a tankless on-demand eco-friendly heater and doesnt come on until you run the hot water hard enough! Lots to do nearby, 2 miles from a public boat ramp at the marina where there is also a small restaurant where you can go to pick crabs or order a great crab cake. About 3 miles away is Fairmount National Wildlife Management Area, great for canoeing & kyaking to go see all kinds of bird life, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Great Blue Heron, etc (we even saw a snowy owl this fall!) and 45 min from Chincoteauge and the Assateague Wild Ponies. Great bike riding area too.

Lovely
Absolutely lovely, charming cottage with gorgeous light
A great place to stay. Beautiful home built in 1899, gorgeous waterfront surroundings.
My family had a wonderful stay here. The home had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We kayak, so this was perfect for us. The neighborhood is quiet and folks are friendly and helpful. Having dinner on the screened in porch in the evenings while watching the sun set was a personal favorite.
Beautiful property
We enjoyed great views and kayaking. Very quiet and relaxing. Great family time. House had everything we needed.
Cute Hideaway
We spent a week at this vintage home in the marshes of Westover, MD. The home is a great place if you want to get away from it all if that's what you're looking for. It is quite a ride just to get to the closest food store. There is one local restaurant, the Hide Away Grille in Rumbly at the marina. It can be seen from the house and is a 5 minute ride. Actually the best simple seafood we found after eating in Pokomoke City, Princess Anne and other larger towns. The sunrise and sunset views are beautiful. Very peaceful. They feel like they personally belong to you. The home itself was relatively comfortable. Wish the double beds were queens but we survived. Bed lines were clean and fresh and the window A/C units were quite adequate. The couch in the living room which is sold as another sleeping option needs to be replaced. Bathroom/laundry facilities where nice— clean, and everything worked properly. Good shower. Cooking was easy with enough pots, pans, etc. to make pretty much anything. The dock out back is dangerous and not usable. We did not use the kayaks, but used the bikes a little—tires were low and could find no air pump. So we did no extensive riding. There is some nice original art throughout and furnishings that fit the look which gives it the home good personality. We brought our small dog which worked out well. Long walks down the very lightly traveled road. Stopped to chat with folks crabbing on the small bridges crossing the many small inlets. Everyone in the area waves when they ride by. I must admit I was stopped for exceeding the speed limit on one of the roads out to the house and I must say even the local police were very nice. They let me off with a warning. Keep your eyes out for the signs because they shift speeds quite a bit and because the landscape is very rural they come up with you realizing it. Don't expect to be entertained or to find entertainment close by. We ventured to Chincateague Island twice which were great day trips. It was a great place to read, go for walks, and enjoy nature. The home was clean to our standard. Not immaculate, but it's not a new hotel. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay.
Serenity Among the Marsh Grass
Our time in Frenchtown-Rumbly was very relaxing and a very nice way to enjoy the bay. We woke to 360º water views every day for a week--it does the soul so much good. We enjoyed birdwatching and reading from the two porches. There is so much to see and learn when you truly slow down and take in your surroundings with your eyes, ears, and nose. The little dockside restaurant in Rumbly was very good, too, and a nice 'outing'. We made easy day trips to Chincoteague, Assateague National Seashore, Berlin, and Crisfield while there, just to soak in as much crab, salt air, and antiqueing as we could take. Thank you for opening your home to us--we all had a great time!

Got the serenity I was looking for
