Comfortable with beautiful view
Great view, walk to many shops and restaurants. We uber'd to alhambra then strolled back down the hill. Great shower. Funky decor. MCM bedroom set was neat.
Good base for a short break in Granada
I looked at lots of apartments in Granada before choosing this one, based mainly on the excellent reviews. Although we enjoyed our stay in Granada and the apartment had some good points, it didn’t quite live up to expectations.
It is in a fairly good location with the city centre and the Alhambra both about 25 minutes walk away and there are frequent buses to the centre from just across the road.
The apartment was very clean and had plenty of hot water and a very good shower. It was bright and airy during the day and had a nice view up the hillside from the front window. Cornelia was easy to get hold on by phone and resolved an issue we had with the electricity very quickly.
However the decor and furnishings were quirky to say the least and not at all to our taste. The seating units- you wouldn’t really call them sofas- were very uncomfortable to sit on and not great at the end of a long day out when you just somewhere comfortable to sit. Also the lack of curtains or blinds on the front window made the room feel very stark in the evening and not at all cosy. I found the bed uncomfortable too, although the bedroom was nice and quiet at night.
Also disappointing was the balcony which was tiny- much smaller than expected. The apartment is located on quite a busy road with a lot of traffic noise so it wasn’t particularly pleasant to sit on the balcony anyway.
There was a supermarket just down the road but we didn’t find many restaurants close by apart from a very expensive one across the road and a couple of kebab takeaways. We ended up walking back into town for somewhere to eat in the evenings which wasn’t ideal when you’re tired after a full day out.
Sorry to be negative about the apartment but having chosen it based on all the positive reviews, I want to give a more realistic view. This apartment was ok for a short break if you are out all day but personally I would stay elsewhere another time.
Granada itself was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of the city and guided tour of the Alhambra, both highly recommended.
Thank you for your long comment. A good incentive to review the announcement, especially if there shows up partly a dislike. I am a bit surprised about some comments though. There are lots of photos in the announcement which show the actual interior and the furniture and there is even a scetch of the rooms with balcony. If you do not like the style or sizes, please choose another place to stay. The beds so far my guests always liked, as well the sofa style. It might be a bit different from standard, but that is what my guests so far enjoyed.
Restaurants you find several styles and price levels along the same street, unless most Spanish. For example an amazing but economic Art Deco style restaurant (Las Titas) at 300m right at the river behind the apartment in the park. You can hardly miss it once you head towards the main points of sightseeing in a usually maximum 15 minutes walk i.e. to the Cathedral or laza Bib Rambla.
Supermarkets you have three different ones close by. Two of them opened even on Sundays for the whole day.
Great base to explore the city
We found this apartment to be absolutely perfect for our 4 night break to Granada. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was great with a wonderful shower, the kitchen well equipped (though we only made coffee and a few sandwiches) and the lounge area with lovely views up the opposite hill was spacious and comfy. We walked for miles each day so the stairs up home at night were sometimes a bit of a challenge but not a problem! We walked up to the Alhambra for our 8.30 ticket time and it took 25 minutes so we felt the apartment was perfectly placed for exploring the sites of Granada.
Great location. Good bed and bath.
The kitchen had everything we needed but could be improved with different plates. We really appreciated the location.
Great location within walking distance of Alhambra
Good sized flat in a great location. Owner Cornelia was very helpful. We has a lovely 3 days in Granada thanks
