Cozy and Convenient
This was a nice little Suite to stay in while in Kauai! It is right next to little shops and a market for staples. You can get to the airport easily and to the main road that will take you into the lovely little town of Kapaa and onto any number of adventures. There are very nicely kept beaches if you walk toward the nearby resorts and behind those. The beaches are public and walking through those areas is safe and beautiful. The water in that area is generally rough to swim in so I suggest you have a rental car to take you places Southward to swim and find out of the way lovely beaches. The furniture is a little outdated, and the shower is too. But it was clean and comfy enough for my family. The grounds were very well kept and the staff was very friendly.. The pools and cooking areas were really very nice as well! We truly enjoyed our stay and will probably come back in the future!
We grew to like it
When we arrived, our first impressions were not good. We were greated with a very sharp smell of must or mildew??? The fridge needs to be replaced as the exterior is quite dirty, worn and has peeling paint, which added to a very disappointing first impression. There were some issues with bedding but we were able to resolve these very quickly by messaging through the app. The mattresses on the beds were too firm for our liking and the hide a bed is old and uncomfortable. We had our 3 teenagers with us and they were quite frustrated with the internet availability in the evenings. Saying that, we did grow to really enjoy this place, I never completely got over the smell issue. The property of Plantation Hale is very well maintained, groomed and beautiful. The pools were clean and a wonderful escape. The location of this suite is excellent, we loved being so close to the Coconut Marketplace. The outdoor, ground level balcony was an amazing place to take in the greenery and has a gate. We stayed here for a week and were able to get over many of our negative first impressions.
Our family really enjoyed staying here! Awesome location and excellent communication w/ management!!
We would definitely stay here again! It has everything you need and if you have any issues, management was easy to call and help out. Great location and property!
Okay Property, but not what we expected
We enjoyed our stay on Kauai, which is a beautiful island! However, Plantation Hale A1 was not quite what we expected. They clearly have a very good photographer. The place was decent and functional, and having the pools available was really nice. We used the pool extensively. However, the bathroom and kitchen are both in need of refurbishing. The tub had cracks, the refrigerator was peeling paint, both the aging coffee maker and the blender had to be coaxed into working. It took several tries to get them going. Beach access was not as expected. The complex faces a tall wooden construction fence from a project that seems abandoned, and the path to the beach is through this fenced area. It leads to a public beach that had a few people camping in vans, and seemed a little sketchy. We had to walk over to the beachfront of other resorts to feel comfortable. However, the neighborhood was nice. We were able to walk to beachfront bars and restaurants which was a blessing as the traffic on Kauai gets crazy bumper to bumper by mid afternoon. The food at the nearby places was excellent, along with great views. We made to most of our stay but would probably not stay here again.
Kauai is wonderful
4pm is late to check in. Repairs being made upon checkin. Sofa bed broken. Very clean. Communication excellent but I guess I expected to meet property manager and that didn’t happen.
