Out of the world view
Nice vacation home. wonderful view from porch. House was clean and spacious. Only problem we had was no latches/locks on bathrooms. You have to sing songs loudly if you are using bathrooms :)
Overall wonderful experience.
Kathleen was super responsive to all questions and was super accommodating with our checkout time so we could fully enjoy our stay. Everything you could possibly need is readily available in the home.
Warm cozy and spacious
Warm and cozy house -- everything as advertised! Very responsive owner. Beautiful views but be forewarned -- they dont call it the House of the Four Winds for nothing! Bring a scarf!
Great gathering spot
We went over the weekend with a group of friends with young children. The house had plenty of bedrooms and is such a warm, inviting place. We all loved it. And the views off the porch in the morning are spectacular.
It has always been our hope that our special place will be a great place for families and friends to gather and have a special time.
Love this place! Thank you, Kathleen.
What's not to love about this gorgeous, eclectic, historic home and its glorious location and kind/lovely owner? Our party of 12 (with kids ranging in ages 6-13) stayed here over Memorial Day weekend this year and despite one day of winter-like weather (all the better, we built a fire in one of the many fireplaces), we had a blast. Kids rode bikes freely around the neighborhood without a care in the world, they played endless hours of hide and seek, and cuddled up for movies. The properties surrounding are large and contain equally impressive historic homes dating back to 1849 --makes for great viewing during long walks. Hiking at Bear Hill (5 minute walk up the road) was really cool and 1.5 miles away, you'll find Sam's Point & the ice caves. Plenty of games, blankets, pots, pans, dishes, and books galore! Art adorns the walls and a true spirit of love and adventure is felt everywhere. Ask Kathleen about the history of the area and house-- it's fascinating, romantic, and epic novel-worthy. The fabulous wrap-around porch is indeed fabulous but honestly just one of the many elements that make this place memorable. Thank you, Kathleen, for sharing your home and 'hood with our families. We will definitely be back.
All if you where wonderful guests. It is important that my family can share our wonderful mountain top and home. It was great seeing the children having such a free and wonderful timr
Beautiful house and location
We loved the house and Kathleen was very helpful and welcoming. I chose this house based on the reviews, for our party of 10 adults and 3 children, and I’m so glad I did. Beds were comfortable, kitchen is huge, everything we needed was there, and enough room for everyone without feeling cramped at all. This house is a gem.
