I enjoyed a week-Long stay at Antonella’s apt which is old (some kitchen plumbing issues), but at a good central location. However, I have been left a bad taste in my mouth by the hostess who, upon my arrival, demanded an ad hoc payment for a city tax which was listed neither in her property listing nor in the booking confirmation which showed I had already paid in full. During the back and forth dispute via Homeaway customer service, she wrongfully withheld the amount from my refundable damage deposit. Of note, the apt is on the 5th floor of a (steep) walk up and there’s a fish market in the ground floor that shares the courtyard so the fishy smell was palpable even in the midst of December which may be an issue for folks who are sensitive to smell. Surely it didn’t bother us as much as the shady dealings which I continue to suffer consequences from.
