New Haven house stay was nice !
In general the house is very spacious . Very nice , clean, unique, with special character. Kitchen is nice and available almost every thing. But no oil, and seasonings. We had ours.
There are only 20 sleeping places , sheets and towels , but We were >20 people extra . So we had extra for ours extra people..
airbags are available, we brought ours as well .
We were thinking that "sheets" include only sheets but in the terminology Sheets are include sheets , pillows, pillowcases, blankets and towels , if you do not take sheets you will not get towels, and pillows .
For us it was important in September to get every thing and we were traveling from different states, and by plaines.
New Haven Manor - Great place for larger group gatherings
The property was perfect for a large gathering (we had 24 people). We liked the location and the rural setting. It was very peaceful with no traffic noise and no light pollution at night for star gazing. We appreciated the cleanliness and comfort. The rooms were large enough for groups to come together and have multiple activities going on at the same time. It was cutely decorated. Great outside deck and fire pit. The size of the deck was very nice with plenty of seating. Amy was excellent to work with and responded very quickly to any questions we had. Highly recommended for larger groups looking for a rural setting with privacy and ample space.
Fabulous Family Reunion Stay
It’s hard to find a property suitable for 25 people — ages mid-70’s down to 5 years old. This place was perfect for us! The property is gorgeous. The kids loved seeing cows up close since our families hail from the Twin Cities & Chicagoland. There was a LARGE hangout/sleeping place for the 9 girl cousins upstairs. Grandma & Grandpa enjoyed the luxuriously large MBR with attached bathroom suite. The other adults/parents had smaller, private bedrooms. Some of the young adults & teen boys had to find futons, blow up air mattresses, or make do with single trundle beds in more open spaces but they all did fine.
We had three great spaces — living room table, dining room table, and kitchen table — in which to play card games and board games. The weather didn’t cooperate with floating down the Kickapoo River but we did do some hiking and biking in the nearby areas. Lots of fun was had by all.
The house is unique but very spacious and comfortable. We cooked a lot in the big, wide-open kitchen. . Glad we brought disposable plates/bowls/cups because there was no dishwasher.
Amy was great at communicating and very easy to work with. Hoping that we can come back again in a few years!!!
Beautiful, secluded location for a reunion gathering
I met 10 college friends from all over the country at New Haven Manor the weekend that went from May into June. We found New Haven to be an excellent fit for what we had looked for. It was very secluded (so we didn't worry about our talking and laughter late into the night). There is a nice porch, grill, and fire pit outside. Inside we appreciated the large kitchen, separate dining area that could seat all of us, and plenty of beds for us to individually sleep on. There was also a nice circular table adjacent to the kitchen that worked well for our games of sheepshead. Although there are some half-steps that are easy to miss or forget about, they only created a few stumbles/chuckles for our group. Also, internet access is much slower than most people are used to these days (but that was near the bottom of our list of priorities).
We found New Haven to be plenty close to the Kickapoo for a kayak outing on the beautiful stretch from Rockton to LaFarge. Amy provided plenty of information about the place and her expectations for guests in advance of our stay. I highly recommend this property to large groups/families who would like to stay in a very nice and clean place in the Kickapoo River Valley area.
