Villa a 20 minutos del centro de Roma, piscina y caballos ideal para familias numerosas.

We are a family of 13 & our stay at this beautiful modernised farmhouse was relaxing. It is located in a quiet area yet only a short drive from the local shops, shopping centre, train station, zoo, go-carting & market. The port of Anzio is about 20mins away & lovely for a night out with beautiful restaurants & tasty gelato & crepes.

The house contained everything we needed to cater for our large family. It was very warm when we were there so we found sleeping with the bedroom doors open allowed the air-conditioning to slightly cool down the rooms.

The swimming pool - perfect for all ages -was a godsend on hot days so the kids were permanently in it. Beside the pool is a gazebo - perfect for sitting in the shade or part shade. It has a large table which was perfect for the bbq or al fresco dining.

The kids enjoyed interacting with all the resident animals & pets. The animal sounds from the zoo closeby are amazing especially the lions. The resident cock crows from early morning so if you are a light sleeper bring some ear plugs.

Denise, Luca & their family respected our privacy & were a door knock away if we needed anything or required advice. They made us feel very welcome. Thank you for making our first family holiday together a memorable one.

het is een ruime woning met 4 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers. de eetkamer / keuken i was berekend op ons gezelschap van 9 personen.

keukengereedschap en huishoudelijke apparatuur: aanwezig en in tact.

zwembad was prima evenals de BBQ. aan de tuin kan meer aandacht worden besteed (meer struiken/ bomen / planten). meer privacy bij het zwembad bv dmv een houten schutting of meer begroeiing zou gewenst zijn.

de beheerder spreekt alleen italiaans, dat maakt de communicatie er niet makkelijker op,

The farm house is in a very peaceful and pretty part of Aprilia with easy access to Rome (40 minutes drive).

The house itself is clean and simple.

Things I would have loved to have known before I arrived...

1. There is a dishwasher BUT bring your own dishwashing tablets or powder.

2. There is a washing machine BUT bring your own laundry detergent.

3. There is a pool BUT it is too cold to swim in during late June.

4. There is internet connection BUT it required the owner to reset it for 3 out of 5 days (the timing of the resetting was at always at her discretion).

5. There is air conditioning BUT it is not in any of the bedrooms (one air conditioner in the upstairs hallway and one air conditioner in the downstairs lounge room).

Overall, given the proximity to Rome which is complimented by the idyllic setting, this farm house offers good value for families (especially those with children who primary school aged).

We loved our time in Aprilia - it's a great location, really easy to get the train to Rome (only half an hour from the station in Aprilia) and close to the sea, supermarkets etc. You will definitely need a car though as it's quite rural! We really enjoyed the friendly animals and spending time by the pool. As previous reviews have mentioned, the family live in the other half of the house, but they were very respectful of our privacy and in fact we hardly saw them so that wasn't a problem in the slightest. Only slight issue was that when we arrived there was nothing at all in the house, even toilet paper, and it was too late to go to the supermarket, so make sure you arrive prepared! Otherwise we had a great stay and would definitely come back again.
