The location and home itself are beautiful! The decorating is upscale and comfortable, but not stodgy. The view is spectacular! The main level is up one level from the water, so it looks like you are on a boat all the time. The architecture is spectacular, and we wondered repeatedly how they were able to build it since it was built on and descending a cliff. That does mean there are lots of stairs.
We spent a lot of time on the little piece of lawn at lake level. It is so serene and beautiful.
The kitchen is well-equipped, as is the rest of the place. The linens are plentiful and of good quality. The internet is robust enough to handle devices at once. The bed selection was perfect for our group: a king suite, a large queen bedroom, and a room with 2 twins. The mattresses (as of October 2023) were extremely comfortable.
We loved the place and are planning on returning next year.
For drawbacks that may affect some potential renters: If anyone in your group has difficulty with going up and down stairs, this is not the place for you. But for us, it was perfect! Another potential issue for renters is that the road down to the house is steep, narrow, and - in one direction- contains a hairpin turn. Thus, if you have a vehicle that is very low to the ground or is oversized (like a Suburban) you are going to have to be very careful. We had Subarus and had no difficulty.
