Great hidden gem
We had an amazing stay. The cabin furnished everything you could think of and even things you didn’t. The trails are right there as well as deeded access to the lake, 5 minutes from The Big Spring, and about 12 minutes from Manistiques little town. We enjoyed every minute and will definitely be back. Jeni was very accommodating and answered all my questions promptly.
Nice overall cabin
Driveway was plowed and big enough for a couple of trucks with trailers. A little tight getting in and out, but very do able. Good heat and comfy beds. Water heater is on a 20 amp breaker that's shared with the only outlet in the kitchen, so had to run an extension cord for the coffee pot and electric skillet, but no problems other than that. Very nice and relaxing. Cabin is furnished with plenty of cookware and we definitely enjoyed it. Would definitely stay again.
Great get away
Had a great stay, trails were great.
Everything we hoped for!!
We were really glad to have found this property. It was everything we had hoped for. It’s at a great location about 10-15 minutes from Manistique a few hundred yards away from Indian Lake. It was nice to be able to bring our two dogs with us. They’re our children. We brought our own kayaks with us even though there were two in the garage. There are plenty of small inland lakes a short drive away to paddle on, as well as, Indian Lake. The cottage is well outfitted with all the essentials. Dishes, silverware, cookware, coffee maker, toaster, electric skillet, microwave, stove, refrigerator, mixing bowls, etc. You’ll want to bring your own plastic wrap and aluminum foil. There were a few seasonings in the kitchen, but I brought our own. We used the charcoal grill a few times and also had a fire every night in the fire pit. Great wood supply on hand in a shed. There’s also not much light pollution in this area so you can see the stars at night very well. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets and pillows too. There’s a tv, but no cable. DVD player, but you’ll need to bring your own programs. Nice recliner chair, couch and dining table. Some other reviews mentioned the shower head not having much pressure. That’s because it’s a water saver head. There’s a 20 gallon hot water heater that supplies the cottage. Cell service is very intermittent and no WiFi, but you can get a connection. We had a breaker in the kitchen trip one morning. Breaker panel is a bit difficult to locate. It’s behind a picture in the bedroom next to the bathroom. May not want to run the electric skillet at the same time as toaster on the same outlet. My wife’s truck battery bought the farm on our third night. As an extra bonus there was a battery charger in the garage. Got it charged up enough to start the truck. Ended up purchasing a new battery at the NAPA store in Manistique. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. We were already talking before we left about planning our next trip next year and hope this cottage is available to rent again. Jeni was very prompt in contacting me prior to our stay and answering any questions I had. I want to sincerely thank her for allowing us to rent her cottage. It was absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to making our next reservation with her next fall.
Thanks a million Jeni,
Hope to come up next year.

Nice cabin to recharge the batteries :)
Small but quaint cabin. It was nicely updated, well stocked with towels, and clean. Nice place to unwind and recharge.
Nice area & place to stay. It was clean & nice inside but the shower wasn't very powerful.
