Beautiful antiquities, spacious apartment, great location, but several quirks
This is a very unique property in a wonderful location. It has everything you need but unfortunately there are several quirks that would prevent some from staying there. 1- water pressure and temperature are completely unreliable.
2 - no tv in a common area. One tv in a bedroom. 3- lots of stairs both in getting into the apartment and within. 4 - master bedroom has an angled ceiling that prevent one from standing upright in half of the space. 5 - loud metal doors that stick and door knobs that we’re constantly coming off. 6 - no ac in the common areas *. The host Frederico was accommodating and quick to respond.
Dear Asarch, I think it is very incorrect what you write, because the photos of the rooms and the apartment are very clear, as the description that says air conditioning is in the bedrooms, I do not understand why discussing something that is written directly in the description, as of the fact that the house is on 2 levels. On the other hand there is a lift. The doors are not noisy unless you bang hard to close them, the TVs are in the room and in the kitchen. I hope next time to be clearer with you. Best wishes Federico.
A+ Location and Apartment!
This apartment was the perfect place for Florence--it was like staying in a museum!
The location could not have been better. We walked everywhere including to and from the train station with our luggage. Truly, you cannot stay in a better spot to see all that Firenze has to offer.
Location was nice and close to the duomo. Decor is interesting. More water pressure in the showers would be nice, though
Great apartment for large group
We stayed one week in Florence with a group of 8 ladies. The house is dressed in fantastic Italian art and feels like a museum. Plenty of space for 8 people, all the beds are cozy and the rooftop patio we used everyday. Great area in central Florence and close to the river so it was very easy to navigate around. Highly recommend this large beautiful apartment!
Quirky place with the luxury of a terrace and three bathrooms
The place is very interesting, kinda crazy with decor, as you can see from the pictures; it's about a ten- or fifteen-minute walk from the Duomo. It is outside the pedestrian zone, however, and the street below has quite a bit of vehicle traffic, which can be noticeable especially first thing in the morning. Two of the bedrooms are immune from this, because they're at the back; but in the two front ones you do tend to hear it.
There are, in fact, four bedrooms; one of them is quite small but very usable. The large room with two twin beds (a former study) also has a hide-a-bed sofa which I found very comfortable. One of the bathrooms is also private to this room. The couches pictured in the living room are now draped, no doubt to cover up the depradations of previous guests, so the place is very slightly frayed around the edges.
The terrace was outstanding; we spent a lot of time up there, even in early March. Very lovely.
The room just below the terrace is pictured as a sitting room; however, during our visit, it was being used for storage (puppet theaters!), so it was available to guests only as a pass-through to the roof. Nevertheless, there is plenty of other space, what with the very large living room/dining room and the suspended loft that overlooks it. Getting in and out of the building is rather intricate, with separate keys for the street door, a metal indoor gate, the elevator, and then the apartment itself. The elevator fits only two people, and that tightly, but served quite well for our luggage and one person, or for whichever two of us were the tiredest after a day spent wandering. We found the location very convenient. Numerous interesting, upscale shops and nice restaurants are right downstairs or within a block or two, and the river is also just a short block away.
Dear Margo and Family, thank you for your beautifull review, only a bit of Clarification; the street is one or more silent of the center of Florence there are only same buses and bit of scooters of the residential people. The room of Theaters is not write in the description and never in our photos just because it is not used.
Also Sorry but say : "kinda crazy" at the decor, when it is made with original paintings and arts craft of Italian Renaissance and Roman Statues that you can find in a museum, is maybe a bit strange. In case, now I put next to the pictures and furniture, the descriptions so you can apprieciate it, next time when you back!
This wasn’t fantastic property! This is a true Italian authentic apartment and the location is perfect for all to see in Florence! Frederico was a joy to work with and met us at the door for a tour of the apartment! I highly recommend this property!
