Geniale Lage, wunderschönes Wohnzimmer
Die Wohnung liegt im belebten Ausgehviertel Barrio del Carmen, daher darf man, vor allem nachts, nicht unbedingt Ruhe erwarten. Von Vorteil ist aber: In wenigen Schritten ist man bei allen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Altstadt. Gleich neben dem Serrano-Tor (ca. 100 Meter die Straße rauf) fährt der Bus (95, glaube ich) direkt bis zur Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, die nächste Metrostation ist auch in 5 Gehminuten (Brücke über den Turia queren) zu erreichen. Also ideal. Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig, vor allem das Wohnzimmer ist riesig und ganz genau wie abgebildet sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, wunderschön, - eine Freude, sich darin aufzuhalten. Das Bad ist winzig, aber mithilfe einer Spiegelwand optisch vergrößert. Da ich mit zwei Kindern unterwegs war, war es toll, eine Waschmaschine zur Verfügung zu haben - allerdings wäre es praktisch, es gäbe mehr Möglichkeiten, die Wäsche aufzuhängen. Nimmt man die in Spanien übliche Wäscheleine, die über den Innenhof führt, kann das schnell zu Verlusten führen, wenn einem ein Teil runter fällt.
Auch das Vorhandensein einer Spülmaschine fand ich genial. Nur etwas merkwürdig, dass trotz einer großen Anzahl vorhandener Putzmittel dafür keine Tabs vorhanden waren (ich habe jetzt allerdings eine Packung hinterlassen :-) und eigentlich auch nicht genügend Geschirr, um diese ausreichend zu füllen. Überhaupt ließ die Küchenausstattung etwas zu wünschen übrig: nur zwei kleine und ein riesengroßer Kochtopf, für den zudem kein Deckel da war (keine normale Größe), abgeschabte Pfannen ...
Und auch kein vernünftiger Besen, um mal durchzukehren. Im Badezimmer tropfte es aus dem Syphon (es stand ein Eimer drunter). Aber das waren alles Kleinigkeiten, die unsere Wohlbefinden nicht weiter beeinträchtigt haben.
Nicholas hat uns pünktlich in Empfang genommen und freundlich alles, was wir wissen mussten, erläutert. Sehr unkompliziert: vielen Dank, thank you very much, we had a very good time. Ich würde jederzeit wieder in der Wohnung bleiben und sie auch durchaus für bis zu 4 Personen (wenn man es zu zweit auf dem höchstens 1,40 m breiten Bett im kleinen Schlafzimmer aushält) empfehlen.

Excellent Location
The apartment is a brisk 10 min walk from the nearest metro- we found the address easily. It's located in a wonderful building and surrounded by cafes, restaurants and shops. You really are in the heart of the historical district. At night, it can get noisy - especially on a weekend. However, we did sort of expect this in a central location and we didn't go to bed too early! The living area is spacious and light. It was great sitting in the sun on one of the balconies. The larger bedroom was very comfortable, slept very well. The smaller bedroom can just accomodate one person . Fine for sleeping! To get a full marks score I think the small kitchen appliances need updating. ( kettle, coffee maker, toaster)We had our coffee at the lovely local cafe next door. Also small bedroom had a strange drain smell??Not sure what this was about.....

Fantastic place to stay in a great place
We had a very nice stay in this lovely apartment. Valencia is a great place to visit. The apartment is situated in the centre of town so restaurants, shops, museums are close by. We can recommend the apartment to anyone fit enough to climb stairs :)

very nice property
I just came back from my holidays in valencia. Had the pleasure of staying in this property.
The photos do not give you the real feel of the place. When me and my sister were let into the apartment we had our mouths open, it is stunning we couldnt belive we were going to be staying there. It has still got some of its orgianal features i.e of old wooden beams. The owner has also made a great effort in how he decorated it. And he has also made it feel like a home. Fully air contioned and cooking utensils in apartment.
It was also in a great location, right in the middle of the old part of the town very queit and safe there at night. you got the real feel for how the spanish live and didnt feel like another tourist location. Also it is very close to the lively part of the town if you choose to go out for drinks.
The apartment is on the third floor but you get used to the stairs. The only thing for me was the bus to the beach took 20 mins but it was a good oppurtunity to get to see some of the town and there was so much to do in valencia that we only went there twice.
The landlord has a folder in apartment of all the things you can go to see during your stay which was very helpful on planning our outings. Great things for children to go and see at a reasonable price.Very close to bus stops, train station and metro.
I know this is a very detailed description of the property but wanted to help other people that are looking for somewhere nice to stay and at a reasonable price.

I would recommend this apartment to my friends and family and hopefully will have the pleasure of staying there again.

This apartment was excellent!
We (family with 2 children, aged 4 and 8) had a fantastic stay in this excellent apartment. The location is perfect - close to restaurants, tapas bars, shops, museums and the tram stop to the beach. The apartment has everything you need and is in a lovely old building. I would recommend it to everyone, except when you have very small children or have problems climbing stairs (it is 4 flights up!)

perfect position
We have visited Valencia 3 times and each time have been delighted to return to this apartment. Whithout wanting to sound like a salesman it is ideally located in the heart of the cultural/historic quarter with cathederals, shops bars and restaurants within a minutes walk.
It is a fantastic base for exploring the city centre and it is possible to find car parking spaces within a 10 minute walk of the apartment on the other side of the river bed.
It can be a little noisy on weekend nights and there are stairs only (3rd floor) but what do you want from a 19th century city centre apartment with bags of historical charm in the centre of the beating heart of the city.
Nick and David have given great help and advice on our vists.

Being part of El Carmen's history
This apartment is really located in the historical part of Valencia. The building is very nice and well conserved. The appartment well furnished. The owner is an enthousiast man. He shows you information about the town at arrival day.
All important historical parts of the city you can do walking. Busses for the further parts are on 50 meters distance.
Lots of nice restaurents. Small supermarket around the corner. As well as a butcher.
It was every day a pleasure coming home after a busy touristique day.
Only problem could be: it is located on the third floor and there is no elvator, but the stairs are wonderful.

A delightful property and location, full of character and sunlight.

just like in the photos!
We just stayed in this apartment for a whole week with our two young children and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect, right in the center and also close to the tram that takes you to the beach, plus right by the Turia park. It didn't disappoint, was just like in the pictures, clean and well functioning. Great restaurants and shopping options are just steps away and the Serranos towers offer a great view.
