We booked with Gerhard a year in advance as this was our 30th Anniversary trip and our first time to France. First, the description and pictures couldn’t have properly described this very unique home. It was truly an incredible place to stay for 10 days. The location made it a perfect base camp for exploration of the Burgundy wine region and the accommodations were fantastic. As we like to cook, the kitchen was well equipped and had everything needed to make our dinner each evening. The Wellness area with the Sauna was incredible and a real treat after a day or wine tasting, riding bikes, walking, hiking, etc. We went into Nolay to the Bar Carznot everyday for our coffee and walked around the corner to the bakery for fresh croissants and bread every morning. Please meet the Monnot’s, Christopher & Frederique early in your stay, their hospitality is unmatched, they invited us to a private wine tasting in their wine cellar built in 1653. Gerhard was fantastic to work with and provided all the information we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We would recommend this place, give it 5 stars and we will return to stay again.

What an absolute treat and delight to have spent a week at this very special cottage. Perfectly located in very quiet Change just a few kilometers outside Nolay and close to all one would want to visit in Burgundy. The cotage is tastefully and thoughtfully furnished and equipped with all one needs for a very comfortable and pleasant stay (except, of course, the key to the wine cellar!!). The owner was exceptionally helpful and responded prompty and fully to all our requests via email prior to our arrival. Having the use of a pool, sauna and bicycles was an added bonus. Apart from the 'groaning water pipe' that we heard frequently, we absolutely loved our stay and will most certainly return. Highly recommended

Since we've had kids we've rented quite a few places but Le Pigeonnier was definitely one of the best. Anyone can tell that Gerhard loves the place and that he's tried to make it as confortable and enjoyable as possible. Tastefully decorated, all the kitchen equipment you can dream of, a nice little pool, free bicycles for the whole family (including child seats), you name it.

The village of Change is quite and very pretty and it's such a pleasure to be woken up by the sound of the rooster. It's also very close to most of the best places in Burgundy.

We have three kids (3, 1, 1 years old) and they enjoyed it as much as us.

We had a wonderful two weeks at Le Pigeonnier in the heart of Burgundy. The location is superb - an easy drive to wine villages, market towns, chateaux, etc. The views across the vineyards are beautiful - and relaxing. The house is very well-equipped: good quality kitchenware; great, comfortable, new mattresses; cooking/cleaning/bathing/washing supplies - even a clothes dryer! And the owner has provided a wealth of information on the area as well - things to see, places to go, restaurants, etc. There are great restaurants in Santaney and Nolay - both just a few minutes away. Le Pigeonnier was very comfortable for the two of us - and fine when two friends came to visit for a couple of days. We also enjoyed getting to know the neighbors - and getting a private wine-tasting at the Monnot's winery (almost next door). We do not hesitate to recommend this part of Burgundy - and Le Pigeonnier - to anyone seeking a great, relaxing holiday.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay in le Pigeonnier and would thoroughly recommend it. The house is set in a small village not far from Beaune and close to many other interesting and historic towns, castles and, of course, some of the most fabulous wine growing areas in France. From the attractive small garden you can gaze across the village to vines growing up the hills.
The cottage itself is amazingly well equipped for a rental property; there is everything from a salad spinner to mountain bikes and a sauna and small pool. Everything is meticulously maintained and very clean. If there are any problems the neighbouring family is more than happy to help out.
We enjoyed making excursions into the surrounding towns on market days and stocking up on wonderful fresh produce which we cooked in the evening. The Voie Verte runs by the top of the village, so if you enjoy cycling, this is a great way of seeing the surrounding countryside.
The cottage is not large, ideal for a small family or two couples who are happy to share a bathroom.

Le Pigeonnier was amazing! We just arrived back from our wonderful vacation at the Martinis' home yesterday. We stayed from 20 - 24 September 2010. The property is so charming but with great amenities - everything you need for enjoying Burgundy wines, cooking, and relaxing. We made great use of the kitchen facilities and the sauna. The owners have thought of everything - from regional information, restaurant suggestions and gourmet wine glasses to bathrobes, slippers, and eucalyptus oil for the sauna - that's right, sauna!

We arrived and were greeted by the neighbor, Mme. Monnot who gave us a tour of the house. The owners suggested we ask them for a tasting and tour of their winery, and they were happy to oblige. This was a great local experience, and was one of the highlights of our trip.

This was a fantastic location to use as our home base for exploring the Burgundy wine region. At only 30 minutes from Beaune there is no place too far to see on any day. Or if you prefer to just stay in and relax, you will not find a better place. Le Pigeonner is practically a spa, you can relax in the sauna, then sit outside with a coffee, and finally sit in front of a fire in the evening and enjoy a great glass of wine.

Our group consisted of 4 people (2 couples) and we found ourselves with plenty of room.

This is a great property and location, and we would highly recommend it for anyone!

We recently visited here at the end of August and we loved every bit of this house and the area. It had everything you needed and more! We brought our 14 month old son and the house was set up to keep him safe which made staying there much more relaxing. The owner Gerard even provided a crib and high chair. Even one of the mountain bikes had a seat for our son and helmet. Be sure to make friends with the wine makers across the street, they are very nice and if you're nice to them I'm sure they'll give you a tour of their winery. We loved the house so much that we decided to cook all our own meals (we even invited the neighbors over for dinner), I guess we were inspired by all the great ingredients and cooking in France. We choose to mainly stay at the house and enjoy it with the occasional hike and bike ride. We loved sitting by the pool and drinking wine! There is a great hiking trail just steps away from the house as well as a biking path that will take you to the surrounding towns. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We can't wait to return!! If you are looking for a little more action, there is so much near by to do like a balloon ride, sky diving, rock climbing, wine tasting, shopping and much much more.

Property with lots of character, very comfortable with good kitchen, garden & terrace. Lovely little pool and sauna, wifi and nice village location, in the heart of vineyards.
Good for outdoor activities too - bikes provided, walking trails nearby, and close to some fabulous wine growing areas.
