Sehr schöne Wohnung, zentrale Lage und trotzdem ruhig, jedenfalls als wir im April da waren. Die Wohnung ist sehr sauber und praktisch. Duschen darf aber nur einer zur Zeit, sonst reicht der Wasserdruck nicht. Der Vermieter ließ uns pünktlich vom Schiffsanleger abholen, legte uns zwei Flaschen Wasser bereit und zeigte uns Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und wollen wiederkommen.

Magic of Venice infects two more travelers!

We could not have been happier with our accommodations in this lovely apartment and with the arrangments for transport from VCE to the apartment by the water taxi.
The description and the pictures of the apartment are absolutely accurate, but even they do not go far enough in describing how perfectly situated in the Dorsoduro the apartment is and how nicely appointed – right down to flower vases, an espresso maker and the dishwasher and washing machine. We were literally a 5 minute walk from the Accademia Bridge through picturesque narrow Calles and probably 6 minutes from the Zattere at a slow meander. Cafe's and restaurants abound in and around the Campo San Barnabus - a 2 minute stroll and more in the Campo San Margarita another 2 minutes away. Grocery stores are very convenient in San Margarita (Punto or Coop) and on the Zattere (Bilo) and the best gelato at Grum is that 2 minutes away.
We stayed during the Festa Redentore - the third weekend in July and were able to see the majority of the fireworks in the San Marco basin from the roof terrace, after a long multicourse meal prepared with fresh ingredients from the Rialto markets and the green grocery barge moored along the canal at Campo San Barnbus at the Ponte dei Pugni.
Thank you Filippo for a wonderful introduction to Venezia, we are forever spoiled for mere hotel accommodations. We have recommended your apartment(s) to all our friends and my only hesitation in submitting such a great review on the internet is that the apartment may not be available the next time we want to come to Venice. But I'll guess I'll have to take my chances.

A fantastic apartment in a wonderful location

This is a beautiful and spacious apartment! Lorenza met us at the water taxi stop and brought us directly to the apartment. She was very helpful and friendly. The location is ideal; away from the busy tourist areas yet easily accessible. The roof top deck is wonderful. It is right near Campo San Barnaba (great coffee shops) and Santa Margherita (lots of restaurants, supermarket). I would most definitely stay here again.

Wonderful apartment in Venice

The apartment provided the perfect base for our 4 day stay in Venice. A great location very close to the Accademia Bridge and the Zattere with an easy walk to San Marco while being away from the path followed by most tourists. Campo Santa Margherita is also nearby and very lively at night. The apartment is bright, very spacious, comfortable and well equipted (just like the pictures). The rooftop deck is wonderful for morning coffee and beverages in the afternoon and evening with quintessential views of Venetian rooftops and many church spires. Filippo and his team were a pleasure to deal with not to mention being a great source of information on how best to see the numerous sights in Venice. They also had some excellent restaurant suggestions (at all price points). We would happily stay there again on future visits to Venice.

A wonderful apartment

Our family of 6 (including children of 3, 7 and 8, and Granny) spent 4 nights in this lovely apartment in late October, and cannot praise it, and Filippo, highly enough. The apartment itself is comfortable, stylish, clean, with absolutely loads of hot water, heating, lovely beds and good quality bedding. The roof terrace is lovely too but we were out so much that we didn't make much use of it.
We highly recommend taking a water taxi to and from the airport (arranged by Filippo, who is an exceptionally nice man) - well worth the 95 euros (each way). The area itself was fabulous for sightseeing, tucked in a quiet courtyard with canal views, but within very easy reach of the sights. Locally we used a good restaurant called something like Casin dei Nobili (apologies for spelling errors) which had lovely food and a great welcome for our children. We found the supermarket (Billa on Zattere) but it's useful to know that the bread shop in Campo San Barnaba sells coffee, milk, eggs etc to get you started. Also it's an idea to make a reservation for dinner, as the nice places get booked up.
We will definitely visit Venice again, the children said it was their best holiday (lots of ice cream, spaghetti, pigeons to chase, and no traffic to get in the way), and we would have to agree. We would love to stay in this apartment again.

Great location, not enough hot water

First, we love Venice. And plan to spend significantly more time here in the months/years ahead. We chose this apartment in the Dorsoduro for the location, and could not have been happier with the neighborhood, the proximity to the Campo San Barnaba and the Campo Santa Margherita, the Zattere. Wonderful to be away from the tourist crush in San Marco. Also, the rooftop terrace was pleasant for evening drinks.
However, we struggled with the amount of hot water throughout our stay. In fact, the hot water heater really did not work, and we were lucky to get a few bursts of warm-ish water during a quick shower and/or bath. This was disappointing and a negative note on an otherwise terrific holiday in Venice.

If you did call me I would have certainly fixed the hot water heater which in fact did not work correctly. A simple phone call would have solved the problem easilly!

OUR FAVORITE VACATION

we had a 10 year anniversary vacation here in 2005 and it will always remain one of my favorite vacations . apartment was LOVELY , near shops for food and we dined up stairs on the terrace . this apt is a great value and in our favorite part of Venice . They actually speak Italian !

Beautiful apartment in a great location

We (my parents, husband and teenage son) stayed here for three days in July. We were all delighted with the beautiful apartment in a wonderful neighborhood of Venice. I went out every morning to the bakery and to the fruit and vegetable boat, which made me feel like a Venetian.
The owner, Filippo, was extremely helpful, especially in arranging a water taxi upon our departure. (Tip: the water taxi can pick you up right at the end of the little street - well worth the money).
I would highly recommend this apartment.

Lovely really is the word

For 4 of us this apartment was very spacious, there was easily room for 3 more. The owner fixed the aircon for us, and I'm sure finding an aircion technician was no mean feat on the Sunday after the festival and after that we were cool and happy. The apartment is clean and bright with everything you need. The only thing we could ask for was a blender to make cold drinks and Bellinis, we would have happily swapped the tele for this. The situation is perfect, minutes form vaporetti/traghetto stops, autobanks, fabulous gelateria/granita, good supermarkets, fun bars and restaraunts, lovely squares. We had lovely breakfasts and fireworks viewing on the roof terrace (it's too hot hot to use for lunch in July). You have views over a canal which feeds into the Grand Canal so we were able to listen to, and watch, the sound wave move upstream after the fireworks! Even though we were right next to late night partying, Venice is very quiet and there is blissfully no city noise to keep you awake. It was our chance to introduce our sons to Venice and we could not have had a lovelier place to stay. They loved the Doge's Palace, St Mark's, Murano, the Ghetto, modern art museums and lovely restaurants. We loved the candlelit Osteria at the nearest end of St Margarita's Square, the best prosectto, friendly service (which is not ubiquitous in Venice) and bar snacks to die for. We'd definately come back again.

A peaceful haven in wonderful Venezia !!

What a wonderful apartment, SO peaceful and quiet - a very important quality in Venice, especially when you return after a days sightseeing, wining and dining !!
Meet and Greet was great, we arrived in the rain, luckily the only day in our 2 weeks holiday. The Altana was a great spot for watching the sun rise (5,40am on Sunday 30th August 2009!!!!) and we enjoyed many a glass of wine or Amaretto late at night, enjoying the wonderful air and views of the adjoining roofs and canals.
A lovely quiet master bedroom was a godsend AS was the air conditioning a great addition and very necessary in a Venetian summer.
A small but perfectly formed kitchen.
A shower room next to the kitchen with beautifully coloured marble tiles was ideal. I enjoyed many a tranquil bath on the 2nd floor overlooking the canal, enjoying some well deserved recharging of batteries for the next onslaught of our beloved Venice !!
Filippo is a charming host, very genial and an interesting guy. He let us watch the Regatta Storica from the boat deck of his nearby Palazzo, which was great fun and we loved it. We are now already looking at other properties in his portfolio (just for a change of location).
This apartment is in a great area, once we found the shortcut to the Academia we were there in 2 minutes. Only steps away from Campo San Barnaba where there are numerous cafes, bars, and many nice restaurants down the Calle Lunga San Barnaba. Also there is a small store where you can buy, milk,water, wine and basic groceries and pasta. Also Punta Sma Supermarket is only 5 minutes from the apartment this is a largish supermarket, with the most high speed check out operator I have ever seen in my life !
A few minutes walk to the Zattere, where you have some wonderful sunrise/sunset opportunities. As well as a smattering of bars, and some lovely restaurants, at night you have some stunning views. We know this area so well, our Friend Alessandro owns the Cantinone Storico just 5 minutes walk away on the canal by Campo San Vio, so it was great to be so close, but it was also very handy for walking to all areas including Canaregio, The station (we went to Padua for the day - very doable - it takes about 15/20 mins to walk to the station)
To sum up the apartment was spotlessly clean, comfortable and welcoming - a real feeling of "I'm home" feel on opening the door !
Go - you will love it !!
