Exactly as described. Fantastic accommodation, large, comfortable and clean. A great spot to base and explore the Highlands. Great value for money.

We have only just returned home about 1 hr ago and I felt I should do this review straight away. This holiday has been a once in a lifetime experience - everything you could have in the apartment to make it a home from home holiday and would go back tomorrow if I could.

We stayed in Old School 11 for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The Old School 11 apartment was beyond our expectations. Beautifully finished to a high standard, fully equipped, clean, spacious and very comfortable. The view of the cloister garden and the mountains in the background are fantastic. The apartment is located in the old part of the abbey which is the most stunning and definitely unique. We chose the abbey grounds for our wedding ceremony and we have no regrets. The owners of the apartment, staff and the management were wonderful; nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a wonderful time and took plenty of unforgettable memories with us. The Old School 11 was a perfect choice and we can’t recommend it enough. We’re coming back next year to enjoy the best of the Highlands.

What a great week we've had. Beautiful apartment in a glorious building, equipped with all you need for a memorable holiday.There is plenty to see and do in and around the abbey while Fort Augustus has a great variety of places to eat and drink.

Nestled on the shores of Loch Ness, St Benedicts Abbey is an atmospheric setting for a stay in the Scottish Highlands.
Old School 11 is a high spec and comfortable open plan apartment overlooking the abbey cloisters. Excellent facilities and special touches make this apartment worth visiting and revisiting year after year.

The position and facilities of the abbey make it a good place for families. Giant chess, tennis court, football goal posts, badminton nets and cricket facilities are contained on the grounds and equipment can be borrowed on site.
The management of the site is excellent and we were well assisted when my son became ill.

Fort Augustus is a short walk from the abbey and is a truly special place. It is easy to take a cruise of the loch or sit at the side of the canal and watch boats navigate the staircase of lochs as part of the Caledonian Canal. The Great Glen Way is a great way to walk, cycle or jog along the side of the canal while taking in the breathtaking views.

Fort Augustus is an excellent base for travelling around the area. The neighbouring places are too numerous to mention here and it will certainly require more than one trip to appreciate them all.

We stayed four nights in the Old School 11 in St Benedict’s Abbey. The accommodations were superb, nothing short of exceptional. The main living area overlooked the Abbey inner courtyard and beyond to green covered hills. The room was exceptional bright, clean and very comfortable - massive windows, new appliances with everything needed to cook and clean. The main bedroom was very tastefully laid out, clean and the en suite was done to the highest standards - very nice powerful shower as well. The 2nd bedroom had 2 single beds with a separate toilet/bathroom as well - again nicely appointed. These accommodations are highly recommended and were great value for the money. We had a wonderful time exploring the area and coming back to cook some fantastic meals in a beautiful setting.

There is really not much to say than to praise the quality of the Old School 11 Apartment in the Fort Augustus Abbey. The location is just something else and ideal for a visit to the area, reasonably priced, first class communication with the owner and caretaker, A+ overall cleanliness, fully equipped kitchenette with modern appliances, bathrooms and bedrooms superbly decorated and cozy, the view from the living room is extraordinary, and so on and so on. We weren't bothered by the ongoing construction works as there was no noise at all. We definitely recommend the Old School 11 Apartment for a stay at the Loch Ness and there is no doubt whatsoever that we would rent it again next time we are in the area. Thanks for a holiday experience we enjoyed extremely.

A fantastic apartment with a magical atmosphere.
The apartment is very spacious and clean with excellent facilities.
At the end of long demanding days - spent drinking in the amazing scenery and absorbing fully the tranquil atmosphere that surrounds both the Abbey and the Fort Augustus area, as well as taking in the occasional lengthy walk - the chance to enjoy the "Welcome Pack" was most appreciated by all.
The view from the sitting room, out over the cloisters to the hills beyond, is one to drink in with coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon - or the occasional glass of wine in the evening.
Loch Ness Apartment provided us with the perfect place to return to at the end of the day. A place of calm serenity where we could simply relax in quiet and tranquil surroundings and enjoy being in an area which we feel is fast becoming our second home.
The food served in local establishments is excellent (we gained weight); the views are incredible (could spend hours staring out over some of the most spectacular scenery ever); the people are gracious, helpful and friendly; and .... we didn't want to come home!
If you are thinking of staying anywhere in the Fort Augustus area this apartment is definitely one to place at the top of your list!
