Have you ever arrived at a place you rented only having seen it online, and then were shocked with disappointment? That is NOT this place. My wife and I spent one month here and the only complaint we have is that we could not stay longer.
The house is everything and more than advertised. Beautiful home, plenty of room, first class everything, lovely and clean pool (pool guy came every week and did a great job). Easily allows you to eat every/any meal at home with everything available in the kitchen.
Location is fantastic. There is hardly anything that is more than a 10 minute walk from the house. Even though it is in the middle of everything, it is perfectly quiet at night. There is a small B&B next door that we were worried would be noisy but we never heard a thing. Pool is private. Neighborhood is great.
Maybe the best thing of all is the guest services manager Shel, from Last Key, who, in addition to being a wonderful man, was immediately available to solve any issue that arose. For example, the motor for the pool heater burned out. After calling Shel, he had the entire motor replaced before we returned from lunch. Due to our technological illiteracy, we had some trouble with the tv. Minutes later he had a delightful young woman named Alex who was there and taught us what we needed to know.
Was worth every penny and I would return every chance I had.

This could be the best rental in Key West. Idealy located close enough to Duval but very quiet. Close to everything and so far away...
We spent a full month in this home and had such a wonderfull time. it's easy to understand why this house received an award, it's just perfect.
If you add the wonderfull manager Shel to the picture you'll feel so close to paradise you will want to be back ASAP.

I thought the house was just perfect. We really enjoyed out stay and thought the location was fantastic! The listing was very accurate and the owner was very acomodating to a special request we had. We would certainly recommend this property. We enjoyed Blue Heaven, 7 Fish, Mangia Mangia, and Cafe' Sole'.

Your house is fantastic. We had the privilege of staying at your house and enjoyed all the amenities. Particularly, we enjoyed the pool and the master bedroom. The location is near all the fun activities in Key West, yet on a private street where you don't get the noise.

Having private parking in front is also a huge plus. Your furnishings are first rate, and I really appreciated Shel coming over when we checked in and giving us the tour and recommended places to eat and visit.

We plan on leasing the Southern Star next June again!

This is a gem of a house. Very comfortable and well appointed. In a great neighborhood.
The service is superb. Shel Segel, the property manager, gave us many great suggestions about where to eat superb local food. The house is very well cared for, pool , yard and interior. The cleaning service was first rate.
We had a wonderful month and will return next year.

My wife and I rented Southern Star for the month of January, 2012. We had walked by the home many times during January of 2011 when we rented another property in Old Town. Souther Star is within walking distance to Schooner's Wharf, SaraBeth's, The Marquesa, Michael's and right next door is Eaton Street Seafood Market (fantastic lobster rolls). Easy walk to Duval Street. All the support staff were right on-hand to help with any issues. We had minor problems with the oven and the one of the first floor toilets. Both issues were addressed immediately and resolved very satisfactorily. The pool is awesome and the front porch is terrific to sit out in the afternoon with a good book and watch the sun go down. Would highly recommend Southern Star and would return "in a heart beat". Thanks to all the staff and support folks who made our stay the very best it could be.

Spacious rooms, perfect lay out, great pool, with in walking distance to everything! This is the third different house we've rented in Key West over the last few years... and the best.

Absolutely beautiful home, well cared for and immaculate! Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. The location was ideal! I will probably never stay in a hotel in Key West again after "living" in this lovely home for the week. If I could give it ten stars I would! Thank you!
