The Casa was in great condition with everything needed for our extended stay. Everything we could possible want for time at home or the beach was provided. The village nearby is authentic Mexican with lots of families and kids strolling about in the evenings and was a pleasant and safe place to visit. Nice cenotes in the neighborhood. If you want time and privacy away from the big tourist cities this is a great option. The owner and property manager were helpful and efficient so we could spend our time on the beach and relaxing.

My fiancee and I had a perfect get-away-from it all week at Casa Caralinde. The house was well equipped, clean, and very comfortable. A very short walk to the most breathtaking beach that we often had all to ourselves. We did some great snorkeling there too. Chemuyil is a great town, with delicious local restaurants. We did not rent a car and really did not need one. Chemuyil is a 10 minute walk, the beach is a 5 minute walk, and you can very easily get a collectivo to Tulum, Akumal, or Playa del Carmen - the most we had to wait was about 2 minutes, and its 30 pesos. I really feel like you get the best of the Yucatan without the hassle of the tourist scene. We really, really loved it - can't say enough good things!

My husband and I stayed at Casa Caralinde for two fabulous weeks with our two young kids and all of had an amazing vacation. The house is in such a fantastic location, far enough from the crowds but a short drive from tons of wonderful areas to explore. And it is an easy drive from the Cancun airport. It is very well located within the neighbourhood as well, quiet and close to two fun cenotes. It was very well stocked making our stay comfortable and easy. It is very attractively decorated and comfortable, right down to a hammock in the back yard. The nearby Xcacel beach was breath taking and often deserted. The snorkeling in Akumal was phenomenal, we saw turtles each time. The town of Chemuyil (within walking distance) had everything we needed if we wanted to cook at home or enjoy a meal at a restaurant. Carol the owner was exceptionally helpful and friendly through out the entire process making our interaction with her a pleasure. I strongly recommend a stay at casa caralinde. It was a wonderful place to go "home" to each night after a fun day out and about.

Casa Caralinde was the perfect spot for our family of four. Because it is not in a heavily touristed district, you can feel like you can spread out a bit with your family, enjoy some peace, and not have the noisiness or craziness of other locales. While the house itself is really great, comfortable, and had everything we needed to cook some very nice meals, the real charm is what Casa Caralinda is close to. The nearby town of Chemuyil is a very cool town that is rare in the area in that it is not at all overrun with foreigners. It can be a bit tricky to navigate without speaking Spanish, but even with a smidgen of Spanish it would be easy to accomplish whatever you needed to. The nearby town of akumal has very nice snorkeling, and the waters are calm enough that my 5 year-old son and I could snorkel together and check out the sea turtles. We highly recommend this place.
