Desert Rose es la casa de huéspedes en 5 acres finca Monticello. Se alza directamente sobre una de las playas más bonitas de la isla, famosa por su arena rosa increíble y el agua turquesa. Admire las fantásticas vistas mirando al Océano Atlántico. La cabaña de la playa grande y la cubierta son una oportunidad única para disfrutar del paraíso desde muy cerca. La fresca brisa, aguas cristalinas, los árboles palmito y playas millas de largo es lo que usted va a disfrutar de una estancia en la finca de Monticello.

Desert Rose es un dos dormitorios, un baño cabaña. El dormitorio principal tiene una cama matrimonial y una habitación adicional tiene un sofá cama. Todas las habitaciones tienen ventiladores de techo y aire acondicionado independientes. La sala de estar tiene un sofá grande, así como TV vía satélite, reproductor de DVD y equipo de música. La casa tiene una sala de lavandería con lavadora y secadora.

Wonderful, relaxing vacation

We had a wonderful stay at Desert Rose on Eleuthera. The property was beautiful, well supplied and nicely maintained. The private beach was breathtaking. The tiki hut on the beach was a wonderful way to enjoy the beach without getting too much sun, and the constant surf was so relaxing. We enjoyed exploring the island beaches, the Glass Window Bridge, and the two local beach restaurants, The Beach House and Tippy's.

The people of Governor's Harbor were welcoming and inviting. We enjoyed Da Perk Café very much!

We would love to come back some day!

Great vacation cottage and awesome beach with a calm, chrystal clear water.
Excellent location with totally private beach and plenty of everything you may need in and around.
The cottage had all the necessary amenities and was just perfect for accomodating a couple.
You should also take a day trip to Harbor Island....beautiful resorts and beaches as well.
We would highly recommend this property for those looking to have a very private and secluded vacation in a gorgeous setting and we hope to come here again very soon.
Special tanks to Barbara, the owner, and David at Eleuthera.

Desert Rose for a month

I had the pleasure of being able to stay at Desert Rose for 4 weeks, It was my first time on Eleuthera. the house is perfectly situated right in the middle of the island close to everything yet far enough that you have the feeling of being alone, with the beautiful beach right there. The house is clean, has everything you need , internet, sound system full kitchen and is very comfortableThe rental of the car is a must if you want to visit the island or get fresh fish from the fisherman in Governor's Harbour ! or go to Tippy's a fantastic restaurant on the beach just 3 min away.
The owners where incredibly nice as was the caretaker.
I will be going back to Eleuthera and to Desert Rose !

Everthing You Want is Right Here.

My wife and I have been all over the Bahamas and this is the best place we have been. Everything you want from the carribean is right here. From the cottage, to the decks, to the pink sand beach, to the coral reefs just a short swim from shore. Need to put this on your "to do" vacation list.

I can't say enough positive things abut the house and island. They have everything you need to make it a pleasant stay. It was helpful to have items left over form others ( bug spray, sunscreen, supplies etc) as well as a caretaker to provide help when necessary. Overall a spectacular time!

Our stay was wonderful.. we loved the houses and the property. Amazing beaches and the people couldn't be nicer. The caretaker was always very helpful and the Island is beyond amazing.
We had a wonderful time and want to thank you for sharing your home with us.

It was our first time on Eleuthera and also our first time at Desert Rose and it was fantastic.The beautiful view to the beach,the deep blue sea and the nice garden around the house was absolutely amazing.The house is perfect located,clean,has a great kitchen and a good entertainment system.In the whole area we had wireless internet.We rented also a SUV from the owner to explore the island and without this SUV it wouldn´t be possible:)The Owner and the employees there are very friendly and helpful.We would recommend everybody this property and if we have time, then we would defenitely come back.

We had a great week at Desert Rose. We have been going to Eleuthera for so many years we consider it our 2nd home and we've stayed at a lot of different cottages & beaches. Desert Rose was a very nice, comfortable cottage. It was equipped with all necessary dishes & pots and pans (very nice pots & pans). My husbands only complaint was the size of the bed....his feet would hang off the end. My only complaint would be that you can not get the major stations...ABC, NBC, CBS on the sattelite. Even in paradise we still love TV.

Loved the layout of the cottage. Put the windows up and let the breeze begin.

It's just south of Tippy's and close to the grocery store.

The ideal location for peace, tranquillity and seclusion, with just the sound of the waves to lull you to sleep. The picture of the beach is 100 % true, warm blue water, soft white sand. The villa also has several decks with chairs, loungers and hammocks to soak up the sun, as well as snorkel equip and kayaks to use. Strongly recommend you to take advantage of the offer for the SUV, far better than local car rentals and 4WD definitely needed to explore as other than main road on the island all other roads are tracks. I would also add that Barbara (owner) was friendly and very patient in email exchanges and full of helpful advice.

Amazing secluded vacation spot

The Monticello Desert Rose is an amazing place to rent, my boyfriend and I recently spent a week there after a hectic few days in New York & Orlando. The property is exactly as shown in the photos and yes it really is that close to the beach! No long drives or fighting to get a sun lounger, the beach will be yours and yours only - we did not see a soul during our stay.

Although a bit of a isolated property you can easily pop down to the harbour for groceries using the SUV. We found that as October is down season there was not many restaurants open so we stocked up on food for the week and made our own meals in the Monticello's well equipped kitchen.

The property is well maintained with everything you would need for your stay, we had a very relaxing time with no problems, if you do need any help with anything David (groundskeeper) is more than willing to help - he kindly ferried us to and from the airport.

All in all a great place to stay!
