We first visited this cozy one bedroom in April of 2012. I proposed to my soon to be wife in the living room after a wonderful couple of days in Depoe Bay. It couldn't have been more perfect! We returned for 4 more nights in August and got in some great whale watching (we actually had a whale hit our Zodiac with his fluke)! We feel right at home at By the Bay! It is convenient to all things Central Coast.
The apartment itself is much bigger (and way less expensive) than a hotel room. We cooked many of our meals in the full sized kitchen and did our laundry in the machines provided.They have tons of DVD's and CD's for all tastes. It is a great little find!
We are getting married this April and will be staying there again when we tie the knot at the beach just up the road. AWESOME!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment was like our home away from home. It surpassed our expectations. We can't wait to visit Depoe Bay again.

This place is awesome! Great layout and great location. Really impressed by the thought and consideration that went into this place. Fantastic DVD selection, provides a computer with WiFi and more importantly they have a Wii! So fun! Thank you for the excellent rental and I will be singing your praises to anyone I know who is traveling to the Oregon Coast. :) Thanks again.

We so enjoyed our stay at this property. We checked in promptly at 3 PM and Walt had everything ready for us. Everything is very neat and clean and there are condiments in the fridge and cupboards available for use. There are LOTS of movies, DVD's, CD's, and a computer and printer. The view is wonderful. We were able to have our two grown sons with us for two nights and there was plenty of room for all of us. We enjoyed eating meals out in the enclosed patio and also the swing that is out there. Walt was kind enough to bring over two coolers for us to use so we were able to pack picnic lunches when we were out sight seeing. We had a memorable wedding anniversary celebration, as our sons grilled ribeye steaks on the grill in the patio and presented us with a wonderful meal, complete with "toasts" and a dance! We would definitely stay at this place again. Hopefullly we will be back before our 40th!

This was a great place to celebrate our 60th anniversary.Very clean and well equipped. We have stayed at quite a number of VRBO places and this one ranks right up at the top.

We have really enjoyed our two weeks here celebrating 40 years of marriage. The view of the bay's changing moods is fabulous. The accomodations were quiet and comfortable and tastefully decorated. Ideal location is within walking distance of restaurants and the bayfront. Handy off-street parking a real plus. We enjoyed visiting with Walt on occasion and found a common attraction for agates. If you are thinking of staying in the area, check this place out.....I don't think you will be disappointed.

Thank you so much for our 4 night stay at your beautiful 1 bedroom apt. We have stayed at several vrbo and this is by far #1 (The Best). The apt was so comfortable, clean , and decorated so nicely. We felt at home and couldn't want for anything. From the kitchen you can prepare food and look out at the ocean or sit on the sofa and have the same beautiful view. We enjoyed eating dinner on the patio with the same view while being sheltered by the wind .We relaxed and enjoyed watching movies from your huge video selection. We had a great anniversary along with 2 warm sunny days.

Thank you Walt & Vicki for providing a fantastic get-a-way for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. View was super out front windows. Observed 3 whales spouting, enjoyed ocean waves crashing over rocks, and a bonus watching Coast Guard boats performing maneuvers. Your by the Bay/Ocean Cottage was fully equipped and stocked like a home, even down to condiments. A computer was provided and with the WIFI, we were able to also use our Laptop. There is a rack with 100 DVD's ( many fairly new releases) as well as another one for 100 Music CD's. For the younger generation, or those with the time, there is a Wii controller plus numerous programs to keep one entertained.

The inside house plants are beautiful and the unique decor displays a Coastal Theme. The outside patio swing was Vicki's favorite place for enjoying the view with her morning coffee.

Glad we brought a guitar, keyboard and amplifiers, as we enjoyed playing our music by the cozy gas fireplace and looking out at the ocean.

This was the first time back to Depoe Bay since our Honeymoon 50 years ago. Boy have things changed since then. We plan to make this an annual event.
