My husband and I wanted one more get away before our new addition to the family arrived. This was perfect! The place was clean and much bigger than we expected. We brought our 2 dogs who loved the place! They LOVED all the wildlife and the trails. We did a few of the recommended hikes in the area as well. I have never seen our one dog so ready for bed as she was after spending the day hiking!!! Just a note I meant to leave there and forgot. Hope falls: we had trouble finding from the directions (The first left is about 10.5 miles after you turn out of the driveway) We didnt see "the restauarant" as stated on directions. The turn was shortly after some fire house on left for those interested in this one!
Anyways again the place was great! We played some board games at night that I haven't played in years!! The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is I had trouble on the bed sleeping. However, I myself was 28 weeks pregnant and that might have something to do with it! I would definetily recommond this place to others!!!

I booked this week long at get-away at Singing Mountain six months before our scheduled arrival after running it by my family of 5, myself my wife and our 3 kids ages 16,18 and 20. My youngest daughter and I arrived via motorcycle about 4 hours prior to the others getting there. It was quite a hot ride up on the bike so when we opened the door and found it to be cooler inside the cabin, we immediately found the furniture comfortable and fell asleep! When the rest of the family arrived we pretty much agreed it was going to be a nice,peaceful week. We played many board games, sang songs around the old campfire read books (the cabin journals in themselves are a joy to read!) and went for multiple hikes around the property and some of the hikes suggested by Pam. We also found some great swimming holes. It is also worthy to note that the hosts are easily accessible in case of emergencies or if you just need ideas on where to go or what to do. If you want to get away from that "electric hum" and spend some time with friends/family in a beautiful wooded setting this is great place to do just that. I hope to return here someday and do some more exploring and relaxing.

new experiences...sometimes its essential to step away and just be
still...thank-you for sharing your cabin with us, a peaceful retreat
that invigorated us. Thank you for your kindness and a gentle reminder
of what life is all about. We appreciate each other all the more and
loved exploring the falls, hiking, canoeing and taking in all the
sounds and smells of nature..the view from the deck was calming as we
enjoyed all of our meals there. Thanks for your hospitality and

This place is simply fabulous, we stayed there for our honeymoon, Pam and Len took care of everything, made sure we we had lots of wood to stay cozy warm. Left us with directions to go site seeing and provided us with genuine country style hospitality.

thank you so much and hope to see you next year.. ps. pottersville is about a half hour away from the cabin an has caverns you can explore, though, keep in mind, it is a lot of climbing and crawling

My husband & I just returned from a week at this cabin. It was so peaceful - no noise, no neighbors, no traffic; everything we were looking for in a vacation rental. Pam & Len (the owners) were so helpful throughout the entire rental process and during our stay.

The house is well furnished, too. There is ample dinnerware, cookware, silverware as well as serving pieces. The kitchen is so spacious & there is plenty of room for multiple people to be in there at the same time. The living room has ample seating room for at least 6 people and the bedrooms are well furnished as well. Our bedroom (the one with the view of the pond) was both spacious and cozy, if that makes sense. We had plenty of room to move around, but the alcove the bed was in & the skylight over the bed, helped to make it feel extra cozy. The bed was comfortable and we slept great.

Even without electricity, we were warm & happy for our time at the cabin. The wood stove certainly kept the entire house warm & Len made sure we had plenty of wood for our time there.

If I had any complaints it would be that the lighting was kind of dim, which took several days to get used to. The gas lights don't put out much in the way of "lighting" but they do help warm up the space!! I just thought that it might be beneficial to let people know about the lights in case of any vision problems!!

The property the house sits on is so charming - from the serene pond, to the beautiful cascade, to the "tree house" - it was all wonderful. We saw turkeys as we were leaving the house one day!! The driveway was a little narrow for our Dodge Ram & I could see where anyone with a bigger vehicle might have issues coming in without scratching the sides, but we managed to get in and out without any major issues.

The location of the house (Wells, NY) was a great area to use as a "base camp". Although it was quite a drive to get to other areas of the Adirondacks, they were all equal in distance, thus making the location perfect!!

All in all, we had a wonderful week & wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful & relaxing vacation. We both would love to return again sometime.

We chose this property on the recommendation of a friend and the cabin exceeded our expectations. This cabin is beautiful, clean and very family friendly, with ammenities that can make it easy for kids and parents. The photos posted to not do this property justice.

We spent the first two days just exploying and collecting fire wood. The other days were spent at the beach or nearby caverns. Great place to get away.

I would highly recommend this property.

Our Family has stayed there for a total of 3 weeks in the last few years. The cabin is great for a family getaway. This place is wonderful for the family who likes to spend time together. Just make sure you bring plenty of activities for the kids. Even our dog came back refreshed.
