Wonderful host - great apartment!

Gordon provided us a very lovely Scottish experience. He picked us up at the bus station, whisked us off to the apartment. It was extremely well stocked with eggs, milk, cereal, fruit, coffee, orange juice, bread, rolls, bacon, even wine and a box of chocolates. Kitchen was very well equipped for cooking meals. A short walk to Sainsburys grocery store. A quick taxi or short walk to Waverly Center bus stop area. Near the Royal Mile leading to Edinburgh Castle. Equipped with washer/dryer and dishwasher. (I hope Gordon has forgiven me for accidentally putting clothes washing soap in the dishwasher creating a foamy mess!) Free internet and local phone use. Gordon even came and picked us up and drove us to Rossyln Chapel (of Davinci Code fame) built in 1400's. A must see in Edinburgh as is the castle. If you are downtown, try lunch at Dirty Dick's Pub, great food!!

We have never had a more helpful host and a more well stocked apartment in all our travels. Other places we have stayed charged extra for the "welcome pack" of food that Gordon provided for free! It couldn't have been a better experience!!

Glad all was well with your vacation ,dishwasher was fine ,it took 3 goes to clear soapy water , had a laugh thinking of you both panicking !! - more things to worrie about in this life . Have a good time with the rest of your holiday.
Take the train to bournemouth and Poole for a weekend. , visit monkey world in Poole it's good "say hi to Gordon the orangutan , he is funny . You will like it.

Great Time in Edinburgh

Our stay at Gordon's apartment was great! The flat was furnished with everything we required plus the use of the laptop made it even better. The apartments location was within walking distance of city center and adjacent to Holyrood park and Arthur's Seat. In the other direction, a short bus ride or walk took us to the beach and boardwalk. Gordon is a great host, ensuring we had everything we needed and communicated with us promptly before and during our stay.

Great flat, convenient, close to Holyrood Park

Gordon is an exceptional host. He provided wonderful local information. The flat is full of travel books, restaurant guides and great amenities. The flat is conveniently located just around the corner from Holyrood park, with a very short walk to Arthur's Seat, a hiking hill with the most spectacular few of Edinburgh. There is a pass through tunnel to a major street with convenient bus service. Only 3GBP for an all day pass. A few short 10 min walk to a major grocery store and little shopping center (where I picked up an extra suitcase to take home all my Scotland treasures). The flat has great WiFI to stay in touch or conduct business. Includes a small DVD collection for those rainy days. Thanks to Gordon for stocking the refrigerator, so I started my journey with cold water and full breakfast food. Gordon covers all the little details including umbrellas, instruction cards (I'm from N. America and the compact washer was a mystery to me), and phone numbers (taxis, take out). It was nice to have a LAN line phone to make local calls for reservations and for taxi pick up. It's a GREAT flat, excellent value for the cost. Gordon is a wonderful hot and added so much to my stay. I toured Rosslyn Chapel, which I didn't even have my plan and never realised it was so close. The flat is also only a short distance to the beach. I'd definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay

This apartment was a great place to stay for several days. With a kitchen and laundry machines, it was a perfect place to settle in for a while and not have to live out of a suitcase. It's not immediately in the center of town, but it's a quick bus ride in to everything. It is a quick walk to Hollyrood Park and Arthur's Seat, just around the corner. There is also a McDonald's and grocery and shopping very close by. We were very happy with our stay, and would love to stay there again in the future.
