After a week in Marrakech, what a welcoming contrast. The house is very spacious especially for 2, well equipped and decorated, the concierge being attentive,informative and providing information,breakfasts and tajines on request. Perhaps the clean air,unpolluted sky at night,and totally relaxed friendly atmosphere in the village was responsible for our very manyana attitude, we loved it.
The neighbours and shopkeepers are so friendly, and the local children, so polite and well behaved. We will miss them and Riff the rescued/adopted house dog who loved to run up on to the roof terrace and play. The local buses in to Essaouira were regular and cheap 4dhm, an adventure in itself,cheap taxis, and we were offered several lifts in to town. The weather has been great, the swimming pool at the nearby riadles2mondes offered a welcoming,quiet oasis,before our gastronomic experiences in Essaouira. A 3 course meal for £5.00!, and splashing the boat out we visited le Taros,fabulous views,music and people. We dined out most nights,there is so much choice. A most memorable holiday, despite losing electric and water one day, but the next door neighbour provided a wonderful Tajine, and the neighbours sons fetched water on their donkeys. Memorable. Respuesta del propietario: Hello,thank you very much for your review. Village life is full of surprises and helpful, friendly people, with a genuine happy attitude towards life. The house is especially spacious for 2 people, really light and airy, with plenty of room to get lost. We have been attracting many couples over the years, and for a thousand and one reasons,we have decided to discount the house rental by 20% for couples renting in 2011. T&C apply. With over 200 eateries in Essaouira there is a wealth of choice to suit every budget and pocket, and some fabulous venues to rock the night away gnaoua style. Warmest regards, Martyn & Co
